When boarding international flights, it’s common to use Incheon Airport, but when boarding domestic flights from Seoul, people tend to use Gimpo Airport. (Of course, for some routes, you can take international flights from Gimpo Airport, such as the Gimpo-Tokyo Haneda Airport route.)
Next to Gimpo Airport, there is an integrated shopping mall called “Lotte Mall.” Thanks to this, you can shop before or after your trip, and you can also enjoy various restaurants and cafes within Lotte Mall.
“Gimpo Airport Lotte Mall”
Gimpo Airport Lotte Mall opened in December 2011. The building has 10 floors in total, with 5 underground and 5 above ground. The underground floors from B5 to B3 are used as parking lots, and from B2 to 1F, it is used as a shopping mall. The department store is up to the 6th floor, and the hotel occupies up to the 11th floor.
“Lotte Department Store, Lotte Mart, Hi-Mart, City Hotel, and More…”
At Gimpo Airport Lotte Mall, you can find various Lotte stores all in one place. This includes Lotte Department Store, Lotte Mart, Lotte Hi-Mart, Lotte Cinema, Lotte City Hotel, and more. In addition, there are various restaurants, bookstores, and more. It is one of the representative commercial areas in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, rivaling COEX and Central City.
“Youngpoong Bookstore”
A large bookstore has also found its place in Lotte Mall, where you can find Youngpoong Bookstore. It’s located on B2, and it’s quite large in scale. Inside the bookstore, there is an Angel-in-Us Cafe.
It’s a place where you can take care of various shopping and dining needs before and after your trip. However, since there are many alternatives in downtown Seoul, and the distance can be a bit far, it’s a place that you might visit when using Gimpo Airport for your travels.
